GOD IS NOT A COP
Why "Reward and Punishment" is just a misunderstanding of Physics
The Ledger Myth
In the prayers of Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement), we say: “You remember all forgotten things, and nothing is hidden from Your eyes.”
We confess again and again.
But this is not meant to be an external ceremony.
It is a process of Breaking, Softening, and Turning the Heart.
Deep in the secret wisdom:
Reward and Punishment are not a “Heavenly Notebook.”
They are not a system of prizes and fines as imagined by narrow human consciousness.
They are a Precise Spiritual Law of reality.
The Physics of Distance
The Divine Light is Reality.
When a person acts in opposition to the Light, they are not punished from the outside.
They simply Distance themselves on the inside.
The human being creates “Self-Damage” in their own consciousness.
The very opacity they build around their heart is the punishment.
A person who repeats an act of disconnection $\rightarrow$ Becomes disconnected.
A person who lives in externality $\rightarrow$ Becomes hollow.
This is not a penalty.
This is a Metaphysical Result of the laws of Adhesion and Separation.
Therefore, the discourse around “Reward and Punishment” is not a Divine discourse.
It is a Beastly Discourse (Siah Behemi—meaning, operating at the level of the animal soul).
The Empty Ritual
Confession without internal breaking does not work.
Prayer without essential change does not illuminate.
External religiousness with a heart of stone is not “Service of the Name.”
It is a Klipah (Shell/Husk).
In the Torah, there is a Law of Cause and Effect:
Reward is the Revelation of Light.
Punishment is the experience of Distance from It.
The purpose of the distance is so the person will wake up and return.
There is no “System of Intimidation” here.
There is a “System of Reflection.” Reality responds to the state of the person’s consciousness.
The Verdict
The Creator is not a Policeman.
The Creator is the Source of Life.
When a person blocks themselves from Life, they experience spiritual death.
When they open, they experience internal redemption.
Therefore, the question is not “Is there Reward and Punishment?”
The question is: “From what place do you serve?”
Do you serve from a place of constricted fear?
Or from a place of expanding love?
The Ultimate Trap
Whoever performs Commandments (Mitzvot) just to avoid being punished...
That IS their punishment.
They remain in consciousness slavery.
Teshuvah (Return) brings one back to Unity.
“Reward and Punishment” are just human names for very deep laws of Light.
The Torah deals with Sweetening (Hamtaka).
Not canceling the judgment, but elevating it and understanding its root in Mercy.
So that we may merit a “Heart of Flesh,” and a Light that operates from the inside out.

ORIYA’S NOTE
We treat God like a Traffic Cop.
We think if we speed, He writes us a ticket (”Punishment”).
We think if we drive the speed limit, He gives us a gold star (”Reward”).
This is childish. This is Smallness (Katnut).
If you jump off a roof, Gravity doesn’t “punish” you by breaking your leg.
Gravity just is.
You aligned yourself against the Law of Physics, and the result was pain.
The pain isn’t a penalty. It’s a Consequence.
Spiritual Laws are just as rigid as Physical Laws.
If you act out of Ego, you create separation. That separation feels cold and lonely.
That isn’t God punishing you. That is you unplugging the heater and complaining that it’s cold.
The deepest line in this text is this:
“Whoever performs Mitzvot to avoid punishment—that is their punishment.”
Think about that.
If you are “religious” only because you are afraid of Hell... you are already in Hell.
You are living in a prison of fear. You are a slave.
The Creator doesn’t want slaves. The Creator wants Partners.
Stop trying to avoid the ticket.
Start trying to learn the Physics.
