Life Is a Process of Sobering Up
Life is a process of sobering up.
To sober up means to grasp reality.
Reality does not depend on time.
The whole show that takes place in this world
is no different from backstage at a theater.
Costumes…
Everyone comes on stage and presents to us what was written in the script.
The Creator prepared a world for human beings.
When will it happen?
When we stop being actors.
Most of humanity is bored and boring,
looking for something to do with itself
as if it will live here forever.
People are staring at shows and at people
and don’t notice what a tragedy this is.
It’s terrible to believe in this,
and to live like this.
The person of truth has awakened to eternity.
Only then do they breathe the infinite breath
and say a blessing over it.
This breath is the soul of the first Adam,
whose whole essence is most ancient.
Simple.
The word “simple” needs no explanation.
It is pleasure in its embodiment.
So simple
that there is no other world.
This is the way home.
Truth has no frame.
While the majority are running around here in a frenzy,
The Holy One, Blessed be He, sits on a throne
and waits for that one man or that one woman
who will bring Him nachat (deep contentment).
What is nachat?
An understanding so deep of who I truly am.
The Holy One, Blessed be He, needs nothing.
This is a sukkah of peace.
Reflect:
What role are you playing? What script are you following without realizing it?
Where in your life are you just “staring” at shows and people to pass the time?
What would it feel like to breathe the “infinite breath”—to awaken to the simple, eternal reality that is always here?
What does this awaken in you?
