LIGHT WITHOUT A VESSEL
You can wake up, or you can be woken up. One is gentle; the other is violent.
The Window
Everyone indeed wakes up in their own time... as long as the time is open. But time is not infinite. There is a difference between a Time of Choice and a Time of Governance.
As long as a person can choose to wake up from within... This is called the Path of Return (Teshuva). And when he does not do this... The Governance moves forward without him... through judgment, shaking, and coercion.
The Two Paths
This is what Chazal (Our Sages of Blessed Memory) called “Be’ita” (In its time) versus “Achishena” (I will hasten it). Either the person anticipates himself and enters the process willingly. Or reality pushes him from behind.
The Rambam (Maimonides, the 12th-century philosopher) emphasizes that there is no arbitrary punishment here. But a result. Whoever does not build a vessel at the time the light is approaching... Meets light without a vessel. And this is experienced as shattering (Shevira).
The Narrowing
The possibilities narrow. And the person reacts to what is happening instead of leading his life.
Therefore... “When time runs out”... There is no total darkness. But a sharp transition from a space of gradual learning... To a reality that forces correction.
The Strategy
This is the reason all the sources plead: Do not wait for a dramatic awakening. But make a small start now. Because whoever starts even a little... enters the stream of awakening.
It is not pleasant when they wake you up by force from above. It is more pleasant to get up alone.
The anchor
And we are entering a period where it is highly desirable... To put the Creator of the World in front of your face. Forgive me for saying it so bluntly. Even if I do not understand anything. It is highly desirable.
The obligation is upon us to join the Source. At least that. That is at least Truth. Compared to everything else happening here.
