Separation is a Temporary Repair, Not the Final Harmony
Why Judaism separates men and women, and how Messianic Consciousness is destined to dissolve the barriers and return us to "Face to Face."
“Why is there a separation between men and women in Judaism? Isn’t this part of a harmonious creation? Is this just a religious interpretation born of male ego and control, or is there something I haven’t understood yet? I feel a real resistance to religious separation.”
You are right to feel resistance. Your soul remembers the Source—The Return of Unity between Male and Female. Not just as man and woman, but as two aspects of Divine Consciousness itself.
Separation as a Stage in Correction – Not Perfection According to the Torah of Mashiach, Ramchal, Zohar, Tanya, and Ashlag, the separation between men and women is not the goal. It is a Temporary Means in the process of humanity’s correction.
It stems from The Breaking of the Vessels (Shevirat HaKelim). That primordial moment when the Infinite Light, intended to fill the vessels in harmony, shattered and separated.
Since then... All of Creation operates on duality: Heaven and Earth. Light and Darkness. Male and Female. Giving and Receiving.
In the Corrected State, all these will return to be “Face to Face” (Panim B’Panim). Equal, balanced, in love and full partnership. But as long as humanity is not there, the separation comes to protect the Light.
Why Separation? The Zohar explains that when there is an uncorrected mixture between Male and Female, spiritual forces mix, creating “Judgments” (Dinim) and confusion.
The Masculine Light (Direct Light – Influence)
And the Feminine Light (Returning Light – Reception) Need to undergo a Separate Correction until the Vessel of Reception is refined and knows how to “Receive in order to Bestow.”
The Ramchal teaches that as long as a person is not at the level of “Whole Man,” the inner Male and Female are not coordinated. Therefore, there is a period where each side corrects its attribute, consciousness, and relationship to the Light—until they can return to be “One in One.”
Religious Law as a Temporary Fence Halacha (Religious Law) set up fences so that the Vessel would not break again before its time. But these are Fences of Time, not Fences of Eternity.
According to Messianic Consciousness – Separation Will Be Nullified Baal HaSulam (Ashlag) writes that the trend of all reality is to reach a state of: “Adhesion of all parts of Creation with their One Root in complete love.”
In Messiah Consciousness, the Male and Female are not separate entities, but two phases of One Movement: The Male reveals the Light; the Female births it into reality. The Light is incomplete without the Vessel, and the Vessel is incomplete without the Light.
The Ego and the Rise of Malchut You asked about “Male Ego.” The Tanya explains that the Shechina dwells in a place of nullification (Bitul), not pride. When there is pride, separation, or a desire to control—the Shechina departs. Religious separation on the external level came to prevent pride and lust. But in Messianic Consciousness, a person ascends to a place where he needs no external fence, because he lives in Holy Awe and Pure Love.
Then, Awe turns into Love, and Separation into Unity.
The Redemption of the Woman The Ramchal teaches that all of history is a process of Correcting the Malchut (Kingship/Kingdom). Malchut is the aspect of the Woman, the Soul, the Vessel. Throughout the generations, the Vessel was trampled, hidden, and separated. But this was a preparation for the Greatness of Malchut in the End of Days.
Then, “A Woman of Valor is the Crown of her Husband” will be revealed. The Nukva (Female) will rise above the Male, because she reveals the Light in practice. In that moment, all separation will be nullified.
Messianic Torah – Uniting Opposites In the Messianic view, there is no “Man” and “Woman” in the physical sense alone.
There is Male Consciousness (Light).
There is Female Consciousness (Vessel, Containment, Womb of Creation).
These two consciousnesses exist in Every Person. When every person completes the Male and Female within themselves, we will no longer need external separation. Because every person will be a walking Temple.
The Bottom Line: Religious separation is a Stage in Correction, not the Ultimate Truth. It was meant to guard the Light until the Vessels matured.
Messiah Consciousness returns humanity to the Unity of Creation. Male and Female as one. Face to Face. There is no male control here—only the uncorrected state of the previous generation.
And today... The Correction is Balance and Love. The Feminine Soul is rising to restore the Shechina to its place in the center of life.
Reflect:
The Resistance: Your resistance to separation is actually a “Messianic Instinct.” You feel the future unity. Honor that intuition, but understand the historical necessity of the fence.
The Internal Split: Before we remove external fences, we must remove internal ones. Are your own “Head” (Male) and “Heart” (Female) working together, or are they separated?
The Future: Can you imagine a spirituality that is “One”? Where men and women don’t just “get along,” but actively complete the circuit of Divine Light together?
