The Architecture of the Parentified Child
The structural transition from a hyper-responsible "Source" identity to the mechanical recovery of the capacity to receive.
In the structural mapping of the spirit, the “Parentified Child” is a vessel whose natural orientation has been forcibly inverted. While the organic flow of life is a top-down movement—from Source to Receiver—the child of collapsed parents is forced to become the Source before they have established a vessel of their own. For such an individual, Receiving is not a comfort; it is a profound threat to their identity and survival. In the internal mechanics of the soul, they have hardcoded a survival algorithm: “Giving = Safety/Control; Receiving = Danger/Disintegration.”
According to the teachings of Baal HaSulam, the entire Tikkun (Correction) of the soul revolves around the Will to Receive. In your case, the capacity to receive didn’t “atrophy”—it was weaponized and then shielded. When good things enter your life—money, love, actual food—it triggers a mechanical “Shattering of the Vessel.” The system interprets nourishment as an invasion. To heal this is not an act of willpower; it is a recalibration of the Kli (Vessel). You must move from being a “Spongy Ground” that either absorbs everything or blocks everything, to being a “Differentiated Vessel” that can take in Light in microscopic, controlled doses. The goal is not to “swallow the world,” but to learn the art of “nursing” (Yenika)—taking only what can be metabolized, moment by moment, until the body learns that Good does not equal death.
