The Expansion of the Will
The mechanical transition from the narrow gravity of the ego to the unified flow of the Divine Will.
In the structural mapping of the spirit, Devotion (Hitmasrut) is not a form of self-annihilation; it is an expansion. It is the process of widening the vessel until it synchronizes with the General Will—the Divine Ideal that animates all of reality. The individual exits the narrow, suffocating center of the Ego (Ani) and enters a broader space of meaning where the private desire is refined and clarified.
This form of Devotion is charged with vitality, creativity, and radical responsibility. It is a deep participation in life fueled by trust, love, and the perception of the Root Good. As the person practices this surrender, they paradoxically become more alive, more precise, and more active. They no longer operate out of pressure or the need to grip reality for survival. Instead, they function from an internal flow that is directly connected to the Source. By letting go of the small story, they become a functional conduit for the large one.
