The Foundation Never Shakes
Anxiety during illness is not weakness. It is the friction between the Soul that knows it is held and the Body that tries to hold everything.
“When my husband or one of my daughters is sick, I go into total panic. My heart races, I feel like I’m losing control, and my body goes into survival mode. It feels like my foundation is being shaken. Is something wrong with me?”
In Pshat (Simple Meaning): When a close one is sick, A basic existential fear awakens. The body identifies a threat to the sequence, to stability. And the nervous system enters an emergency state. This is a natural survival mechanism.
In Drush (Interpretive Meaning): The stress does not stem only from the illness itself. But from the internal role you have adopted over the years: To be the One Who Holds. The Manager. The one who ensures everything functions.
When illness appears, The internal image of control is undermined. And the Psyche experiences a loss of ground.
In Remez (Hint/Allegorical): The restlessness hints at too deep an identification with the role of the “Guardian.” To the point where identity is tied to the ability to prevent pain and uncertainty. The moment this is not possible, Anxiety awakens to say: “There is a limit here.” “There is a place here where I am not the Source.”
In Sod (Secret/Mystical): This is a direct encounter with the Void (Ayin) of the human being. The Soul knows there is Supreme Leadership. But the Animal Soul seeks grasp, certainty, and control.
When reality reminds us that there is no full control, Acute friction is created. Between the inner knowledge that there is One who leads everything, And the fear of the Vessel to be dropped.
Such fear is a movement of life that has not yet settled in Da’at (Knowledge). Da’at is the ability to connect the knowledge that everything is from the Source With the experience of the body in the moment. As long as this connection is not quiet, The body carries the tension.
The Foundation Never Shakes. What shakes is only the sensation of the foundation. Not the foundation itself.
The Supreme Leadership is fixed and stable. There is no change in it at all. All the fluctuations, fears, and storms belong to the Vessels. Not to the Light. The Light always stands in its place.
When the Vessel experiences uncertainty, It interprets this as the shaking of the foundation. But in fact, a meeting is taking place with the Limit of the Vessel, Not with a collapse of Reality.
What is happening to you is not a sign of weakness. But a sign of deep sensitivity.
The correction is not to control less or feel less. But to agree to Lean. Not on yourself as the Manager of Reality. But on a deeper Leadership.
“I do not hold Life.” “Life is held.” “And I am held within it.”
There, slowly, Anxiety makes room for Presence.
