The Only Reward is to Be a River: Why Influence is the Ultimate Prize
"Israel is My Firstborn." This isn't about genetics; it's about the Quality of Will. The Messiah is the part of you that refuses to sell Eternity for a bowl of soup.
“What is the reward for our spiritual work? Is it to be the ‘Firstborn’? What does it mean to be a Messiah in our own lives?”
You have written a tremendous foundation here. The Reward is not what you Get. The Reward is what you Become.
1. Influence (Hashpa’a) is the Reward Our only reward is Influence. This is the direct result of keeping the Covenant between “Me and Him.” Why? Because Influence is the moment a person achieves Equivalence of Form with the Creator. God is a Giver. When you influence, you are Godly.
2. The Meaning of “Firstborn” (Bechor) “Israel is My Firstborn Son.” In spirituality, “Firstborn” is not a matter of Time (who was born first). It is a matter of Quality of Will.
The Firstborn is the one who “Opens the Womb.”
He is the one who breaks through the darkness of the Will to Receive first.
He is the one willing to be a Pipeline before he worries about himself.
3. The Test: Selling the Birthright You mentioned the Messiah not “selling his birthright.” This is perhaps the hardest daily test for every messenger: The Temptation of Esau. To sell the Eternity (Influence, Mission, Truth) In exchange for Lentil Stew (Comfort, External Approval, Quiet, or the Honor of flesh and blood).
The Messiah is the frequency in the psyche that Refuses to Sell. It does not trade the connection with the Creator for any “benefit” this world offers.
4. “Leaving Everything” “To leave everything and everyone to do His Will.” This does not mean the physical abandonment of your family. It means the Abandonment of Dependency on them as a source of life.
When a person stops working for people (seeking their validation) And starts working for the Creator: He becomes a True Influencer. Because then his love is unconditional, and his giving is not a trade.
The Ultimate Question Every one of us is required to ask ourselves: “Am I there?”
Am I in the state of the Firstborn (Responsibility)?
Or did I sell it today for a moment of comfort?
To be the Messiah is not a title. It is the refusal to give up on the Creator for anything less than Infinity.
Reflect:
The Soup: What is your “Lentil Stew”? What comfort are you accepting in exchange for your greatness?
The Firstborn: Are you waiting for someone else to lead? The Firstborn doesn’t wait. He breaks the water.
The Boss: Who is your employer? If it’s people, you are a slave. If it’s the Creator, you are a King.
