Why Animals Heal Us When Humans Can't
That "Hole in the Heart" isn't depression; it's cosmic geometry. Why your dog (or goat) is closer to Eden than your spouse.
“Since I can remember, I have a void inside me. A hole in the heart. Even in amazing relationships, the hole remained. Surprisingly, animals fill this void much more than people. With people, someone always wants something—physically, mentally, emotionally. Animals are the embodiment of simple love. Why?”
The experience of a constant internal void is not just a private life sensation, but a deep expression of the Existential Longing of the Soul.
This is not a personal “hole in the heart.” It is the lack created by the disconnection from the Divine Whole.
The Kabbalah of the Void The human being was created as a Divine Vessel whose purpose is to receive Infinite Light through adhesion (Devekut). But the moment the worlds broke (The Breaking of the Vessels), we were left with: Broken vessels, Huge desires, And no ability to contain the Light.
And thus—”The Vacated Space” (HaChalal HaPanui) was created.
The Baal Shem Tov teaches that the Divine constricted Himself (Tzimtzum) so that the world could be created, leaving behind a “Vacated Space.” This is the place where we live. An internal sense of emptiness that demands a return Home. That is what you are feeling.
Even in a deep relationship, if the soul is not connected to its Root Light, something will always remain missing.
Why Animals? So why do animals fill the heart, while people often drain it?
Because animals did not go through the “Breaking” like humans did. They are connected to “Divine Nature.” To the simplicity of Creation.
In an animal: There is no Interest (Interes). No Lust. No Manipulation. No Judgment.
When a human meets an animal, their soul meets—in simplicity—what it misses the most: Clean Divine Love.
The Baal Shem Tov said: “Every creation in the world has an Upper Root. Even the beast has a pure spiritual spark within it.”
Animals resonate the Light that fell downward but remained pure. They do not have an Ego that demands, judges, or calculates. Therefore, they fill you. Not in the sense of “filling a craving,” but in the sense of Internal Remembrance.
The Human Agenda You wrote: “With people, someone always wants something.” This is the tragedy of the human condition. We are needy. We are broken vessels trying to fill ourselves through others. Animals are whole. They are present.
The Correction We do not eliminate the Void. We fill it with Light from a new place. Not through achievements, conditional relationships, or external control. But through Direct Connection to the Shechina (Divine Presence) within.
When a woman connects to her Source, she does not need anyone to fill her. She becomes a Source of a Spring.
The Comfort Your connection to animals testifies to a delicate, open heart that remembers the Whole. The Creator speaks to you from there, too.
Because sometimes, to heal the hole in the heart, you don’t need words. You just need love without fear.
Reflect:
The Relief: Notice how your breathing changes when you pet an animal versus when you talk to a person. That is the difference between “Demanding Energy” and “Giving Energy.”
The Void: Stop trying to fill the “Hole” with relationships. The Hole is God-shaped. Only the Infinite can fill it.
The Nature: Spend time in nature this week. Trees and animals are “Static Holiness.” They tune your frequency back to Eden.
