"Will You Marry Me?" (The Secret Meaning)
It is not a request for ownership; it is a call for elevation.
THE INQUIRY I have been looking for “The One” my whole life. I feel like if I don’t find a partner, I am stagnant. But even in relationships, I feel a strange emptiness. What is the spiritual purpose of this longing for union?
THE TEACHING
“Will you marry me” (Ha’tisa’i Li) Does not come from the language of marriage contracts, But from the language of Elevation (Hitnasut) toward the Truth. This is the essence of Divinity.
Every truth begins the moment a person knows where they must lift themselves to. Not toward whims, Not toward fleeting opinions, Not toward empty ideologies, And certainly not toward any body of flesh and blood— But toward the One Source.
People flock after thoughts that have no substance Because they have lost the direction of their elevation.
And the truth is simple: God is One. And we are all called to learn to yearn for Him with intense passion, Regardless of religion, race, or nationality.
This Elevation— This constant rising toward the Truth, until the point of adhesion (Dvekut)— Is the most sublime status possible for a human being.
There is no peak higher than this, And no freedom deeper than this.
REFLECT
The Direction: Look at your last 24 hours. What did you “lift up” (worship/obsess over)? Was it the Source, or was it your anxiety/phone/status?
The Partner: Are you looking for a partner to “settle down” with, or someone who forces you to “rise up”?
The Passion: Imagine if you directed the romantic obsession you have for a person toward the Creator. What would happen to your life?
