Without Awe and Love
The Holy Zohar says:
“Torah without awe and love does not fly to heaven.”
Torah (or a custom) without reverence and love
does not ascend.
It remains here,
as a burden.
In the final generation,
the essential thing is to discover the intention and the soul behind the custom,
not the custom itself.
Reflect:
Think of a spiritual practice or custom you follow. Are you performing it with awe and love, or does it sometimes feel like a heavy burden?
What is the “soul” or “intention” behind one of your routines? Can you connect with that inner meaning today?
What would it take for your practice to grow wings and “fly,” instead of remaining on the ground?
What lands for you?
