Yishuv HaDa’at: The Art of Staying Put
Redemption is just a return to the center.
The Definition
Yishuv HaDa’at (Settled Mind) is a state of a settled soul. It is not being disconnected. It is not being indifferent. And it is not being stressed. It is being present.
In Hasidut, this is a foundational concept. It is when the Da’at (the Intellect + the Heart together) sits in its proper place.
The person sees reality exactly as it is. But reality does not sweep him away from the inside. There is internal silence. The heart is open, but not flooded. A sensation of “I am here.” Not “I am drifting.”
The Mechanics of Connection
Da’at is the connector between the Intellect and the Emotions. When there is no Yishuv HaDa’at, the emotions run wild on their own. Fear, anger, anxiety. When there is Yishuv HaDa’at, the Intellect illuminates the Emotion. And the heart calms down.
This settlement comes from Trust (Emunah). From the knowledge that there is order. That there is Supervision (Hashgacha). That there is a Divine Presence. Even if I do not understand everything.
The Return
This is exactly the opposite of what the world is doing to us right now. The news. The notifications. The endless analysis. They all confuse the Da’at. They pull it out of its seat.
Redemption (Geulah). Is simply a return to the center.
