Your Soul’s Unique Note
Every soul stems from a different root in “Adam Kadmon.”
Adam Kadmon – The Blueprint of All Creation
Adam Kadmon (Primordial Man) is not a physical figure.
He is the first divine pattern in which all souls, all worlds, and all the details of reality were inscribed.
He is like a supernal mind or the map of creation.
He is called “Adam” because he includes within him all the forms of a person (head, body, hands, heart, etc.) as a symbol of the unified structure of creation.
But he is “Kadmon” (primordial) because he preceded all the worlds.
In the teaching of Mashiach:
“Adam Kadmon is the thought of creation itself, the thought of the Creator’s love.”
And what is “a different place”?
As the light descends from the thought of creation into actual manifestation, it divides into worlds: Atzilut (Emanation), Beriah (Creation), Yetzirah (Formation), Assiah (Action).
With each descent, the light weakens, condenses, and becomes more physical.
These regions are called “different places” in Kabbalistic texts—not in a geographical sense, but as a level of consciousness where the divine light is no longer fully felt.
“A different place” is any state in which you do not feel that everything is one.
Any consciousness of separation, fear, judgment, or distance is “a different place.”
The journey of a person is to walk from that “different place” back to “Adam Kadmon,” to the knowledge of unity. And this is precisely the journey of Mashiach: the return of all the sparks to their source, to the one light that has no end.
Every soul has a unique root. Some souls are from the root of Chesed (loving-kindness), some from Gevurah (strength), some from Da’at (knowledge), and each one descends to the world to reveal a different aspect of the Divine.
This is why it is written in the Zohar:
“Each one is drawn according to their root.”
This means there is no point in comparing souls.
One is meant to shine through compassion, another through strength.
One through wisdom, another through simple faith.
Together, they all compose the body of Mashiach—the completeness of consciousness that includes all aspects.
There are also differences in the level of rectification. Some are ancient souls that have returned to the world after many cycles, possessing a deep consciousness. Some are young souls, still building their initial vessels, experiencing the world of action in constriction and confusion. The difference is not in value, but in the stage of development. Like flowers that bloom at different times, all will eventually bloom into the same light.
There are differences in the level of attainment. One soul can attain the Creator through intellect, another through emotion, another through absolute silence. In the teaching of Mashiach, this is called “souls that illuminate with a surrounding light and souls that illuminate with an inner light.” There are those who shine outward, influencing others, and those who shine inward, in the subtle rectification of themselves, which illuminates the world regardless.
All souls are limbs in one body—the body of Mashiach. There are “brain” souls, “heart” souls, “hand” souls, and “feet” souls. Each performs its part, and when one is missing, the entire body is weakened. This is the meaning of the words of the Tanya: “All of Israel is truly one body, and their soul is one, only their bodies are divided.”
At the completion of the rectification, all external differences between souls disappear, and the souls are integrated into one another in complete love. Then it is revealed that the differences were not meant to separate, but to create one complete, divine harmony.
The “difference between one soul and another” is actually the unique note that each soul plays within the divine symphony.
When they all play together, it is revealed that they are all playing a symphony of one light.
Reflect:
Without needing an intellectual answer, can you feel the unique “flavor” of your own soul—is it compassion, strength, wisdom, or simple faith?
Where do you fall into the trap of comparing your spiritual path to someone else’s, forgetting that your journey is unique to your soul’s root?
What is the unique note you are here to play in the world, that no one else can?
I’d love to hear what this stirs in you.
